What is Drip Marketing?
Drip marketing is a direct marketing strategy that involving sending out several promotional messages over a period of time to a specified group of sales prospects.
The phrase derives from the common process used in agriculture and gardening called "drip irrigation" where plants or crops are hydrated using small amounts of water over long periods of time.
It was developed in response to the "Law of 7" which states that an average "prospect" needs to view your marketing message at least 7 times before they buy. While there are some mixed views on this “law”, we’ve heard up to 29 times, the need to stay in touch with your current and prospective clients in order for them to purchase from you is not in doubt. There are simply too many competitors out there, not to do so.
The practice of drip marketing can help you avoid the “Peak and Trough Syndrome”. By consistently and regularly keeping your name in front of your current customers and prospects you will find, over time, that you will have a steady amount of business coming through the door.
